MediaMarkt Leadership Programme

"Amazing. It profoundly changed my management style. I'm now much more connected to my decisions and choices with the team."

"I thought it would be just another corporate bullshit training... but it was the opposite."

"This course gave me exactly the insights I needed to grow as a leader. I'd recommend it to our board."

I was looking for a training agency with a different starting point from the "basic" leadership skills. I found that in In2Coaching. They developed a leadership programme that sets people in motion and makes them more aware of their behaviour and its underlying causes. The impact of this programme was immediately visible, as a result of which it was decided to roll out the programme further.

An important factor in the success was Roderick, the trainer/coach, who works in a pleasant and effective way. He makes contact easily and knows how to confront participants in a constructive way, creating real insights and growth. In addition, he is willing to think along and shifts gears quickly.

I highly recommend In2Coaching to anyone looking for an inspiring and impactful leadership programme.

Comments from participants:

"The training was intense, in a positive way, and gave me deep personal insights I can apply both at work and in life."

"Very insightful, with lots of practical tools I could apply right away, and a solid foundation of theory to continue growing."

Leadership Programme

“I became aware of my behaviour and was actually able to make positive changes. I’d always thought that this was simply the way I worked, without realising the effect it had on my colleagues.”

What makes coaching so valuable is that I became aware of my behaviour and was actually able to make positive changes. I used to think I just worked a certain way without realising the effect it had on my colleagues.

Roderick asked just the right questions that made me think and helped improve my communication. Not only at work, but also in my private life with family and friends. For me, work and private life are inextricably linked, and that is precisely where Roderick's strength lies. He makes himself vulnerable, shares personal experiences and helps you end the day with more energy and satisfaction both at home and at work.

Adjust Leadership Development
From understanding behaviour to more mindful leadership

At Adjust, we worked with senior management and team leaders on personal leadership, behaviour and collaboration. It’s not just about understanding what you do, but recognising what happens under pressure and consciously making different choices in those situations.

“Roderick gets straight to the heart of the matter and knows how to discuss what’s going on in a pleasant and safe way, so that you can take concrete action.”

“By asking the right probing and sometimes challenging questions, Roderick has helped me take further steps in my personal leadership.”

The coaching with Roderick has been of great value to me. Especially the guidance in reflection and asking critical questions about my behaviour and motivation (What do I really want?) have really helped me move forward. The open and confidential atmosphere was essential for me, and I am grateful that I was able to experience that with Roderick. I notice that I am better and more often able to listen to my feelings and act on them. Roderick gets to the heart of the matter quickly and knows how to discuss it in a pleasant and safe way, so that you can take concrete action. I highly recommend him.

Roderick has helped Adjust and its employees develop further by providing coaching and training on personal and servant leadership.

My personal challenge in this trajectory has been to practice acting more authentically and giving (and receiving) feedback. In this I learned a lot during the programme with Roderick about my drives, blueprint behaviour (boundaries) and core qualities. And that it really only adds value if I keep acting from my strengths.
By letting you practice a lot and by asking the right in-depth, and sometimes confrontational, questions, Roderick helped me take further steps in my personal development.

Where leaders experience change

Greater sense of ownership

Take on fewer tasks and resolve fewer issues. Assign responsibilities more clearly.

Under even greater pressure

Recognise triggers sooner. React less automatically. Make more conscious choices.

Better conversations

Avoid and make up less. Listen more, set boundaries and say what needs to be said.

More peace of mind and energy

Less mental clutter. Clearer choices. More time for both work and personal life.

“I now feel more confident in my leadership role, have more meaningful conversations with my team and set clearer boundaries, both at work and in my private life.”

I started the programme without knowing exactly what I needed, but it turned out to come at exactly the right time. Roderick's sharp vision and personal approach gave me quick insight into old patterns such as insecurity and superficial communication. Now I am stronger in my leadership, have deeper conversations with my team and set clear boundaries both at work and privately. I used to run away from difficult conversations, now I initiate them with confidence. This programme not only gave me awareness, but also lasting tools to lead from strength and connection. Absolutely recommended to any leader who takes himself or herself seriously.

“Thanks to Roderick’s guidance, I have a better understanding of what really matters to me and what I stand for, and I’m making more conscious choices that reflect this.”

Initially, I doubted whether coaching would really help me further, but looking back, I see how much I have grown both as a father, partner and leader. Thanks to Roderick's guidance, I know better what I really find important and what I stand for, I make more conscious choices that contribute to this and I look for connection with the people around me more often. His approach is confrontational, but therefore effective. This programme has changed me permanently and I recommend it to anyone who wants to work seriously on themselves.

“I’m better at recognising my triggers, I react less impulsively and I feel a better balance between work, family and myself.”

"I was experiencing imbalance in my life where my work was always number one and I was stuck in old patterns."

Thanks to the coaching with Roderick, I have learned to recognise my triggers and make more conscious choices between work, family and myself. I experience a better (healthier) balance, much less stress, react less impulsively and function better both professionally and privately. His combination of business experience, sharp coaching and concrete assignments suit me well. I see coaching as an investment in yourself. If you feel you are stuck and are willing to take responsibility, I can absolutely recommend this programme. Finally, but just as important: Roderick is just a nice guy to work with.

Practical

Insights are translated into conversations, decisions and behaviour in day-to-day work.

Work and private life intertwined

The very same behaviour that either helps or hinders you as a leader is the behaviour you take home with you.

“I recognise my triggers more quickly and stay much calmer under pressure. Whereas I used to dread meetings with senior stakeholders, I now see them as a welcome challenge.”

I had a lot of self-doubt and often took criticism personally. I felt particularly nervous during discussions with senior stakeholders and board members. If a critical email came in or a challenging meeting was scheduled, it would keep me awake at night for days. Although I did my job well, my insecurity sometimes got in the way of how I presented myself and how relaxed I could be in my role.

Through Roderick’s coaching, I’ve learnt to be much more mindful of my thoughts, emotions and behaviour. What has made the biggest difference for me is that I no longer automatically get stressed when pressure builds up. I recognise my triggers more quickly, understand better what’s happening and can therefore respond much more calmly. The coaching was not only practical and challenging at just the right moments, but also gave me concrete tools to act with greater strength and confidence in my day-to-day work.

A good example of this was a meeting with the local board, the Group CEO and the Global CMO about a campaign I was responsible for. In the past, I would have been nervous about that for days on end. Now, I found it exciting, but above all a fun challenge. I was confident in my pitch, able to handle critical questions and approached the discussion with confidence. I’ve also noticed that colleagues and senior leaders are increasingly coming to me directly for advice and answers. My line manager has also said that he can clearly see I’ve become much less insecure than I used to be.

I can therefore wholeheartedly recommend Roderick’s coaching to professionals who find that insecurity, perfectionism or the opinions of others sometimes hold them back. His approach is direct, practical and, at the same time, compassionate. Thanks to his guidance, I have not only become more confident, but I also enjoy challenging situations much more – situations I used to dread.

“I’m much more aware of my communication style, recognise my blueprint behaviour more quickly and can adjust my approach accordingly. These insights continue to have an impact and help me grow in the long term.”

Roderick held up a mirror to me in a nice, powerful way, as a result of which I am now much more aware of my own communication style. I recognise my blueprint behaviour faster and can adjust accordingly. Roderick's coaching plants subtle seeds in my subconscious, which emerge at exactly the right moment and give me new insights. This makes it very clear to me how effective his approach is - it works through at a deeper level and helps me grow for a long time.

“I’ve become more aware of my behaviour and of the sort of person and father I want to be. The practical examples helped me to actually tackle my personal challenges.”

Thanks to Roderick from In2Coaching, I gained valuable insights and became aware of my behaviour and who I want to be as a person and a father. The sessions were packed with practical examples that helped me tremendously. What I particularly appreciated was the opportunity to raise personal challenges and work on them together.

Roderick has a great coaching style and helped me achieve my goals. His expertise and commitment are evident, and I always felt comfortable being open during sessions. Moreover, I am very grateful that I can always call him if I run into something.

I highly recommend In2Coaching to anyone looking for personal growth and development.

“By taking a close look at myself and my own behaviour, I realised just how much I could gain from it. It has played a major part in my development both as a manager and as a person.”

Walking in for an initial meeting with an experienced coach ‘to become a better manager’, only to realise after an hour and a half that the programme is completely different from what you’d imagined… That’s what happened to me when I first met Roderick. Instead of pointing the finger at others or external factors, the coaching programme taught me that there’s a lot – a great deal – to be gained from within yourself. That might sound a bit vague, but by taking a close look at yourself and your own behaviour, you can break down a great many habits and assumptions, with that one goal in mind: growth, both as a manager and as a person.
The approach is confrontational and even tough, but it has made a significant contribution to my development on both fronts. And for that, I am grateful to Roderick.

What might change for you?

The stories above are different.

Not the common thread.

which they used to avoid and remain calmer when

the pressure is mounting.
