Team training Lumina Spark

Lumina Spark is a profile that provides insight into how you, based on your personality, work effectively with others. The profile is value-free and describes your natural talents, development points, communication preferences and leadership style. In the Lumina Spark team training we use these insights to improve the cooperation and effectiveness of your team.

Recognisable?
  • Is your team not really working together as a team yet?
  • Lacking the confidence to ask a question for help or give feedback?
  • Does your team struggle to take responsibility and hold each other accountable?
  • Doesn't achieving (collective) results always come first?
  • Do team members avoid confrontations?

Do you recognise one or more of these questions? Then Lumina Spark team training will help you to positively identify causes and solutions.

Tip: team or heath day

The Lumina Spark team training is intended for all companies and organisations that want to work on personal leadership and team effectiveness. The low-threshold format also makes the training an incredibly fun and original addition to a team or meeting.

Better and more pleasant cooperation

In this interesting team training you will learn a lot about yourself, your role as team leader and how your team behaves under different circumstances. The training casts a different light on your qualities and characteristics and those of your team members and shows where the handles are for personal development and increased team effectiveness. The result is a more effective team in which you not only work better, but also enjoy working together.

The Lumina Spark team training achieves this by:

  • Drawing attention to team results
  • Learning to hold each other accountable
  • Committing yourself and each other to agreements
  • Staying constructive during conflicts
  • Building mutual trust
Understanding behavioural preferences at 3 levels

Lumina Spark encourages personal growth by providing insight into your behavioural preferences on three levels:

  1. What motivates you? (your natural, intuitive behaviour)
  2. What behaviour do you normally show? (your daily behaviour)
  3. How do you react under pressure (your behaviour when stressed or overloaded)?

This not only gives you insight into your energy leaks, but also the hidden treasures in your character. Understanding your own behaviour better also helps you better empathise with the other person's behaviour. Thus, self-awareness opens the door to better team performance.

The power of paradoxical personalities

A unique feature of Lumina Spark team training is embracing the paradox in our personality. Lumina Spark shows that a person can exhibit both extroverted and introverted behaviour. The training makes you aware of this and gives you tools to embrace and use your opposite personality traits. This will allow you to significantly improve your personal effectiveness.

Paradoxical teammates

The paradoxical characteristics within individuals also play out at team level: in the form of opposing personalities. By learning to appreciate and exploit these mutual differences, a team gains in effectiveness. During the training, we therefore also scrutinise team behaviour using the three levels of behavioural preferences.

The profiles of individual team members and the team can be viewed and compared in a handy app after the training. This allows you to see at a glance how your team reacts (1) naturally, (2) daily and (3) under pressure. This not only gives you insight into the culture at team and organisational level, but also the information you need to achieve a more desirable culture.

Tailor-made approach

Each individual or team process starts with a questionnaire. Filling it in takes about 25 minutes and the result is a 27-page profile. A tailor-made profile or a more extensive profile (going into even more depth) is also possible. We provide feedback on the profile individually or during the training.

The training itself is always customised, tailored to your needs, working environment or team. Possible topics include:

  • Understanding yourself and others
  • Communication styles
  • Giving feedback
  • Dealing with stress
  • Increase team effectiveness (both at function and process level)
  • Team development with a focus on results and taking responsibility

The Lumina Spark method was developed by business psychologist and organisational consultant Stewart Desson when he was employed by British Airways. He saw how bureaucracy within large organisations was eroding employees' passion and commitment.

His solution: by treating employees not as performers ('human doings') but as people ('human beings'), you awaken their passion and increase their effectiveness.

An open door? Possibly. But then why does it so often go wrong? Meanwhile, Desson's insights and methods are being applied with great success within organisations around the world.
